Hello, blog! I’ve missed you! Do you still remember your owner? 😭  Goodness, I feel like such a bad mother abandoning this space just like that for a few weeks.

Life happened again. Surprise, surprise. I am notorious when it comes to spreading myself too thin and it’s my blog that usually suffers first. My apologies, blog. Mommy loves you! I’ve been away cos of all my work as a freelancer (did you read my Forbes article on Vivy Yusof yet?) and because of something exciting that my friends and I are working on. 🙊You guys may get news of what it is by tomorrow so do stay tuned. 😉

But wait! This blogpost’s purpose is not about me making excuses! (Even though I start most of my posts with that.) It is, however, about something that’s also quite exciting as well – but we’re gonna be hopping off to the skin care department for this one. 😉

I’m here today to talk about The Face Shop‘s latest offerings for people like me who are deathly afraid of premature skin ageing. I’m now in my late 20s and the big 3-o is coming in just a couple of years. Before I hit that age, I would like to be fully prepared, thank you very much! Enter – The Therapy range!

It’s The Face Shop‘s line wherein science meets nature. It uses a European formula that contains 135 hand-blended recipes that vary in botanical ingredients. You’re basically purchasing history right there.

They sent me two products to try and I’m gonna be giving you a quick lowdown on each:

The Therapy First Serum (RM148.29, 130ml)

The Face Shop, The Therapy First Serum, The Therapy Moisture Cream, Moisturiser, Serum, Skin Care, Beauty, Review,

There are quite a number of serums in the market now that are revamping the Korean 10-step skin care routine. These new serums are supposed to be applied prior to your essence. Something that would have been considered as blasphemy before.

These serums, The Therapy First Serum among them, are supposed to boost the efficacy of anything that comes after it. Making your essence and moisturisers seem like they’re on steroids.

Wait a sec – before I get way ahead of myself, can we just admire the packaging a bit?

This serum comes in a glass bottle with a pump. Yay, hygiene! I also love that it has these indicators on the side showing how much product you still have left!

Okay, back to the contents!

This product comes right after cleansing and doubles as a gentle, daily exfoliator if used with a cotton pad. Personally, I would just pat it on with my hands on most days but I try to use it to exfoliate at least twice a week. I use 1-2 pumps of the product for both methods.

I did notice that my skin felt a wee bit more hydrated than it used to. My skin has gone from dry to Sahara recently with a series of breakouts yet again. I was in desperate need of hydration and this really helped. I started using this a couple of days earlier than the cream and noticed results with just this one product from the range. There is also a significant improvement in the absorption rate of all subsequent skin care and moisturising products I use after The Therapy First Serum.

The Therapy Moisture Blending Cream (RM185.48, 50ml)

The Face Shop, The Therapy First Serum, The Therapy Moisture Cream, Moisturiser, Serum, Skin Care, Beauty, Review,

When I first opened the product, it seemed like your regular gel moisturiser. However, when I decided to try it out that night, I noticed that there was cream right under the gel. I must admit that I enjoyed mixing the two layers together using the provided spatula. I used this cream for a couple of weeks as my last layer of skin care before heading to bed.

After trying this moisturiser, I felt that my skin reacted to it quite a bit. I was getting a couple more pimples but thinking that it may just be because of the sudden change in product, I tried it out for another two days.

By then, the pimples were less and it looked like it was doing well in keeping my skin hydrated. Although I think this cream would have worked better on me a few months ago when my skin was going through a combination phase – oily on the t-zone, dry everywhere else. My skin at the moment is just too dry.

It’s not you, cream. Most likely, it’s just me. 😭

I will be keeping this around though for certain days when my face is not as dry! Why? Because I love its scent! Fresh and clean. 💖

There you have it! My take on the The Therapy range from The Face Shop! Have you tried it as well?

More later!

Carol

P.S. Hopefully there will be more blog posts next week. That is, if life doesn’t decide to crack another joke and mess up my schedule again! But thank you so much for staying with the blog despite the lack of updates! Hugs to you!
