Hello, my loves. I’m back with another skin care review cos as you all know by now, I’m pretty obsessed with giving my skin some TLC.

Quite recently, this obsession became a lot more intense as my skin has been acting out. 🙁 From having dry skin for over 2 decades, I’m now dealing with something that’s so new to me – combination skin. I blame the crazy heat and the hormonal rebalancing that’s been going on. Pfft.

Just in time for this sudden skin shift, I was contacted by the people behind Korean skin care brand Sorabee to do a review on their skincare products. I was kind of hesitant at first due to my skin’s current state. However, after being given more information about the range, I changed my mind.

Sorabee‘s Balancing range promised to be suitable for any skin type – something that I’m in dire need of since my skin has been so weird. Sometimes, it’s oily and sometimes, it’s extra dry. Extreme combination skin, anyone? Ugh, can’t wait for this phase to be O-V-E-R.

The range’s products also contain marine collagen extracted from Sea Stars (star fishes) which helps in hydrating  and balancing out combination skin.

Shall I walk you through the products?

Balancing Essence (RM121.90)

This essence comes in an adorable, baby blue bottle and has its own dropper which I love. Yay for hygiene conscious packaging!

The product itself has a milky texture that is easily absorbed by the skin. It took just about a minute after applying – tops. I apply the essence using my fingers, after cleansing my face and spraying on some toner (and letting it dry and absorb first, of course).

I love the scent of this range. It’s a fresh, clean scent that isn’t too overpowering. It doesn’t smell of chemicals or too much fragrance. If you’re a fan of those ocean inspired scents (those that don’t smell like coconut!), then you will love this as well as the other products in the range.

Balancing Aqua Cream (RM106)

The cream which I’ve been using as the last step for my night time skincare routine for the past weeks is Sorabee’s Balancing Aqua Cream. I love that it comes with a tube – again, due to hygiene reasons. I hate dipping my hand in a pot of cream no matter how much I clean my hands prior.

This moisturiser has a light, gel-like texture that is easy to apply and spread all over your face. A little goes a long way too!

During application, you can actually feel the gel turning into water droplets. I massage these droplets in a circular motion for better absorption.

Balancing SS Mask (RM100.70/box, contains 10 sheet masks)

Paired with green tea extract, rich botanical ingredients, and this range’s major ingredient, sea star collagen, this mask spells intensive care. It helped moisturise and calm my skin during the recent comeback of the dreaded haze.

I use this twice a week and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Yes, it takes a lot longer compared to your usual sheet masks but the feeling that I get after taking it off is enough of a reward. It leaves my skin calm, hydrated, and supple.

Final thoughts

Sorabee’s Balancing Range definitely helped out my skin during its worst moments. The heat, the hormones, and the haze were my worst enemies these past months and it’s getting better for me thanks to this range. If you’re in Malaysia and are having the same problems, I can definitely recommend this range.

To be honest, the only con I can think of is that it’s a bit on the pricier side. However, since you only need a little of the essence (30ml) and the cream (70g) for each use, it will take a while before you finish them off.

That’s all for today then! Catch you all later.

Love,

Carol
